@3"FIRST FRONTIER REVIEW"

@1
The TARDIS lands in the US around the 1960s. The Doctor is shocked to
discover that strange extra terrestrial events have been taking place.
Abductions, murders and they all revolve around the sinister Major Kreer.
Kreer makes a welcome return in this novel. A return? Well just like
Mortimus in "No Future" we`ve seen him before. In fact this provides the
major plot twist about two thirds of the way through the novel, and is of
course the main reason to read it.
That`s not to say that the rest of the novel is bad of course. It`s all of
a very high standard. David A. McIntree`s other novel "White Darkness" also
had a semi historical setting and he has proved once again that he can write
these to high form.
There`s plenty for all the TARDIS regulars to do, in fact for once they all
live up to expectations. McIntree is obviously using this opportunity to
prepare us, in part at least, for Ace`s departure in a couple of months.
All in all this is a very worthwhile read. It combines an interesting plot
with good characterisation and all in all is one of the better NAs in the
series.
